In a recent strategy consultation with a high-performing and established organization, staff and board were stuck in the “messy middle” of a change management effort. No progress was being made. We unearthed deeply held beliefs that were impeding forward progress and, through appreciative inquiry, we found a path forward. Through clarity and reframing we were able to shift perspectives so that the organization could make a quick strategic pivot, transforming the organization.
